Dark, season 2: premiere date on Netflix, trailer, what will happen, actors and characters | “Dark” quickly became a worldwide phenomenon when it appeared in December 2017 and that’s why it was no surprise that Netflix renewed the German series for a second season, after Jonas Kahnwald (Louis Hofmann), at the end of the first installment , will travel to the year 2052 through the wormhole installed in Winden, his hometown.

In the new episodes, Jonas will explore a future apparently punished by darkness and seek answers. You will need them to save the world.

Created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, “Dark” is Netflix‘s first original German-produced series, set in the fictional Winden, a city where a mysterious portal joins different eras in history, separated by 33-year lapses.

In the first season, the main line was the year 2019, but the series also traveled back to the years 1986 and 1953. For the second installment, of eight episodes and to be released in June 2019, the destination is the future.

Before its release, “Dark” was compared to “Stranger Things” from the disappearance of a child in a small town, but as the episodes passed, the German series stood out for itself, as a time travel thriller so intricate that it’s hard to keep up with him not only because of his various timelines, but also because of the evolution of the characters.

The filming of the second season of “Dark” began officially on June 25, 2018 in Berlin and its surroundings, and ended in November of that year.

Of course, during the See What’s Next 2018, developed in April by the streaming platform in Rome, the first images of the new episodes were shared.

At the end of May 2019, Netflix revealed that “Dark” will finally be a series of three seasons.

On April 18, 2018, Netflix shared the first photos of the new season of the series, where Jonas is shown back in Winden, but in the year 2052 after being driven by a wormhole until that era.

Jonas wanders through the gloomy Winden of the future, which is a post-apocalyptic city, with ruined and abandoned homes around. He is alone.

There are no traces of the people he met at the end of the first delivery and who welcomed him into the future. He is only seen, covering his mouth with a handkerchief as if to suggest that a catastrophe hit the world.

After all, the mystery of time travel was always always related to the nuclear power station housed in its town of birth.

“Welcome to the future.” On April 26, 2019, Netflix released the first trailer of the second season of “Dark”, where it is suddenly stated that “everything is connected”.

The preview is full of images of the first season, but also of unpublished scenes, where Jonas struggles to survive the future and to return home in the year 2020 until someone says that “the apocalypse must happen!”.

In the past, his friends try to decipher a series of unexplained events that have hit Winden, while a dark figure stands up responsible for everything.
